3 West Berkeley nonprofits expand help with jobs and housing, thanks, in part, to Bayer

In a recent Berkeleyside article, Mirna Cervantes, a LeaderSpring Center alum from the Class of 2023 Women of Color LeadStrong Fellowship, is featured for her impactful work with local nonprofits in West Berkeley. Cervantes plays a pivotal role in expanding job and housing assistance programs, helping individuals in need through partnerships with organizations like Bayer. Her leadership is part of a broader effort to create lasting change in the community, ensuring that essential resources are accessible to those facing economic challenges. Cervantes’ work highlights the power of collaboration and grassroots leadership in addressing systemic issues of housing and employment.

“We are really excited to enhance our economic development work, including our fair wage initiatives and making sure that individuals are connected to permanent and fair-wage jobs,” said Mirna Cervantes, the organization’s executive director. “We’re also providing direct and indirect pathways to better quality jobs and support for launching or strengthening a business.”
