Show of Hope gala 2025: SF Community Health Center to host annual fundraiser helping those in need
The San Francisco Community Health Center's 2025 Show of Hope Gala, held on April 18 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, brought together community leaders and supporters to raise funds for critical health services benefiting marginalized populations. Emceed by ABC7's Reggie Aqui, the event honored Toni Newman with the Health Justice Champion Award, Juanita MORE! and Mr. David Glamamore with the Arts & Activism Award, and Code Tenderloin with the Community Impact Award. A special performance by Ada Vox, known as "The Voice of Drag," concluded the evening.
Lance Toma, CEO of the San Francisco Community Health Center and a 2015 San Francisco Fellow with the LeaderSpring Center, emphasized the importance of the center's mission: providing accessible health care to underserved communities, including the unhoused, LGBTQ+, and those affected by substance use. He stated, "We are centered in the Tenderloin, we take care of our neighborhoods. Folks who are homeless, people who are dealing with substance abuse issues, the fentanyl overdose crisis. Our trans community, our LGBTQ+ community. And really anyone who is marginalized and needing quality health care."
The gala serves as a vital fundraiser to support the center's comprehensive services, ensuring continued care for San Francisco's most vulnerable residents.
