Rachael Meyers on Changemaking Through Environmental Justice
In a powerful interview with Machronicle, Rachael Meyers, an African American environmental advocate and LeadStrong Fellow, discusses her mission to create lasting change through environmental justice. With a deep commitment to uplifting marginalized communities, Meyers shares her journey as a changemaker, focusing on the intersection of environmental issues and racial equity.
“In college, I was very engaged in anti-police brutality and fighting against mass incarceration. I had environmentalists saying what we were fighting for was a distraction from the cause because if we didn’t have a planet, it didn’t matter,” Meyers said.
As a African American Women LeadStrong Fellow, she is part of a collective of women leaders who are committed to addressing systemic challenges in their communities and empowering others to advocate for justice.
