Executive Transition: Impact and Opportunity

Most nonprofits are familiar with the ripple effect that executive transitions have throughout their organizations. While “Nonprofit Founders’ Syndrome” often stands out, high turnover in the executive seat is more often the norm: according to a 2015 survey done by The Nonprofit Quarterly, the average term for an ED is six years.

Racial equity comes to the forefront when a transition involves a BIPOC executive stepping into a leadership role. These organizational dynamics were the focus of a learning community that LeaderSpring conducted in 2021.

During this online event we will share the case study that we compiled on the impact that an executive transition has on incoming BIPOC executives and staff, and our response for exiting executives and their boards as they prepare their organizational culture for transition.

We've also expanded our conversation to include exceptional leaders from the sector who have recently gone through major executive transitions within their own organizations and moved on to new opportunities.

We look forward to your attendance and our discussion!
