Thousands rally in city for “Hands Off!” protests against Trump and Musk
In a powerful display of civic engagement, thousands of demonstrators flooded the streets of Downtown Richmond on April 6, 2025, as part of the nationwide "Hands Off!" protests. Marching from Capitol Square to Monroe Park, participants voiced their opposition to the growing influence of President Trump and tech magnate Elon Musk on politics, social media, and civil rights. The Richmond event was one of many held across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., aiming to highlight concerns over the erosion of democratic norms and the consolidation of power among elites.
