Strong Emerging Leaders of Color

Meet the cohorts!

In 2016 The East Contra Costa STRONG Nonprofits Fund Initiative was created by a committed group of funders with the long-term goal of strengthening the ecosystem of organizations addressing poverty in the East Contra Costa County (ECCC) region through the provision of direct services, community organizing, and advocacy for systems change.

As part of these efforts LSC partnered with the STRONG Initiative to support leadership development of emerging leaders of color committed to social change in low-income communities of ECCC by developing the STRONG Emerging Leaders of Color of ECCC learning community. Through this program we are providing cohorts of emerging leaders of color in the nonprofit and government sectors with self-determined knowledge, skills, tools and experience needed to lead social change in ECCC that addresses the needs of low-income communities.

The cohort learning outcomes and curriculum topics were developed by a team of emerging leaders of color in ECCC and the first STRONG cohort members.
